FLOOD EMERGENCY – WE NEED YOUR HELP!
On February 27th When Pigs Fly Ranch was wiped out by the Russian River flood.
All of our animals are safe and have now been moved to temporary homes. But – it was a crazy situation because we had 2 pigs that we couldn’t evacuate before we flooded. We had to move them to higher ground on the road across from our house for 2 nights while we waited for them to be rescued because roads were closed.
We had about 5′ of water flow through the sanctuary, so we’re now assessing the damage, and are hopeful that we’ll be able to recover and salvage some of the equipment and shelters that were under water.
It will take weeks to get the sanctuary back to being safe and secure so the animals are able to return to their home, and months for it to return to how it was before the flood. Now is when the real work begins.
We really need your help. Because of the focus on moving the animals, we were unable to protect many of the critical tools, equipment, hardware needed to run the ranch, and even shelters for the animals. All donations we receive will go to to the rebuild efforts and the cost to feed & house the animals at their temporary home.
